Oscar Nominations 2020: The Irishman, Once Upon A Time In Hollywood; Films That Might Lead The Race
Fans are yet to get over the Golden Globes 2020 craze that took place a few days ago, but hey, there’s something bigger in store ahead. We are talking about the 92nd edition of the highly-coveted Academy Awards, also known as the Oscars. The nominations for the same are going to be unveiled soon. The ceremony is slated to take place on February 9 and one can expect a streak of star power at the red carpet, drama on the stage and fun amid the audiences. Unfortunately, this edition of Oscars, too, will go host-less like last year.

As for the anticipated nominations, two of Netflix films are going to compete for the best picture. There’s Martin Scorsese’s The Irishman and Noah Baumbach’s divorce drama, Marriage Story. Well, one just can let go the Quentin Tarantino biggie, Once Upon a Time ... in Hollywood, which might run neck-to-neck with Sam Mendes’ war drama, 1917. As per News18, the precursor guild nominations, this year, have hinted at Once Upon a Time ... in Hollywood, 1917, The Irishman, JoJo Rabbit and Parasite, gaining at a definite spot in the nominations. Well, one got to wait and see if Joaquin Pheonix’s Joker manages to bad a spot or not.

Talking about the best actor category, there’s Joaquin Phoenix (Joker), Adam Driver (Marriage Story) Leonardo DiCaprio (Once Upon a Time ... in Hollywood), Antonio Banderas (Pain and Glory), Christian Bale (Ford v Ferrari), Eddie Murphy (Dolemite Is My Name), Adam Sandler (Uncut Gems) and Robert De Niro (The Irishman), competing against each other. Reportedly, Beyoncé will be bagging a nomination for her song in Lion King.

Again, these are just the possibilities. Let’s wait for the D-day now! The nominations for Oscars 2020 are expected to be live-streamed on Oscar.com, Oscars.org and all the digital platforms of Academy.
